Packing Lightly
I've successfully corralled everything that I should need for the next six weeks. Mostly dresses, medications, and almonds. And as of right now, 35 minutes before I leave my house, everything is neatly packed into one large suitcase and one smaller bag.
My flight leaves Atlanta for Seoul at 1 PM this afternoon. I am still confused about crossing datelines, but I've figured that I'll arrive there at 3:30 AM EST (4:30 on Monday afternoon in Seoul). I then leave for Phnom Penh at 6:30 pm Seoul time and arrive at 9:55 pm Phnom Penh time (11 hours ahead of EST). So, I guess that makes my trip somewhere around 24 hours, including driving time. This morning my mom mentioned an article she read in Eating Well that said it takes one day to adjust for every time zone you cross. I would have never expected a cooking magazine to provide me with such pivotal information. Now I can expect 11 days of recovery. Or is it 13, including my time in Korea? I have no idea. I can't think about it too much. I'll get too confused. I think I should just rely on the clocks around me and my boarding passes to get me there.
